Calling All Conservation Scholars

The Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for its Classroom in the Field program.

This summer experience offers an opportunity from students around the U.S. to join an 8 week journey from urban jungle to the old growth forest and back.

Call for FY14 MarineGeo Postdoctoral Fellowship Proposals

The Tennenbaum Marine Observatories Network (TMON) is the first network of marine observatories focused on global-scale, long-term study of coastal biodiversity and ecosystems using standardized approaches. The network is a developing partnership of diverse organizations facilitating long-term interdisciplinary, comparative research. TMON currently includes the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, Edgewater, Maryland (SERC), the Smithsonian Marine Station at Ft. Pierce, Florida (SMSFP), the Carrie Bow Cay Marine Field Station (CCRE Program-Belize), and sites on both Caribbean and Pacific sides of Panama administered by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Panama (STRI). Additional partner sites are under development.

TMON invites research proposals for a Postdoctoral Fellowship that will complement our developing comparative research program. The application deadline for this opportunity is January 15, 2014. To find out more, go here.

The 2014 EcoHealthNet Workshop
458.jpg EcoHealthNet is a mentored training program for U.S. and international graduate students (Masters, Doctoral, or post-doctoral level) interested in multidisciplinary health and infectious disease research. EcoHealthNet offers two separate training opportunities: a mentored research internship and a 1-week workshop, which will be hosted next June in conjunction with George Mason University at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, VA.

The application deadline for this excellent program was just extended. You now have until November 30 throw your hat into the ring. Check it out here.
