Alene Moris National Education for Women’s Leadership Institute 2013

The Alene Moris National Education for Women’s Leadership Institute had another successful year! 31 undergraduate and graduate women participated in the intensive six-day program geared towards empowering women to be leaders in their communities.

The Women’s Leadership curriculum is designed to:

  • Empower students to practice and explore leadership through action in a diverse society
  • Teach women about the realities of politics and policy making in addition to learning effectiveness in the political process
  • Connect participants with women leaders who are active in their communities and make a difference in civic life including the public sphere
  • Receive skills training on public speaking, fundraising, negotiation & conflict resolution, diversity and networking

The culminating event was a graduation luncheon with the keynote given by Alene Moris congratulating the women on their completion of the program and inspiring them to participate in the process. We sincerely thank Heidi Swartz, Chair of the Leadership Advisory Board and Chair-Elect, Suzanne Keel-Eckmann for their efforts and dedication to making the program a success this year!
