My name is Nick Novoa. I am the co-chair of the Student Committee for the 2013 AEG Annual Meeting and current graduate student at UW. This year the AEG Annual meeting will be held here in Seattle on September 8-15, 2013. We are still in need of a few student volunteers for the meeting.
If you are interested in volunteering at the Annual Meeting, please e-mail Heather Clark at heather as soon as possible. Please see the AEG website for details (http://www.aegweb.org/events/aeg-annual-meeting/2013-seattle). If you volunteer for a total of 8 hours over the course of the meeting, you will receive complimentary registration for the entire meeting, an ice breaker ticket, and an exhibitor luncheon ticket. Volunteers will be in charge of putting registration packets together beginning Sunday, September 9, staffing the registration tables and monitoring the technical sessions (helping with speaker presentations such as loading power points and various A/V assistance). The length of time you need to be available varies from about 1.5 to 4 hours depending on what you are doing. You do not have to be at the meeting all day.
If you have any questions about the meeting in general, please feel free to e-mail me at njnovoa. This meeting is probably the best networking opportunity you will probably ever have, plus it is a lot of fun. I highly recommend attending the meeting if you can make the time.
