UW Earth Day 2013

Please join us for this year’s Earth Day kick-off event this Friday April 19th in Red Square, as we partner with UW’s Annual HuskyFest celebration!

The Earth Day speaker program will open with Julia Parrish, Associate Dean of College of the Environment at 12:00 PM, followed by Anne Mosness from the Go Wild Campaign and then James Rasmussen from the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition. Student Regent Chris Jordan will present this year’s Husky Green Awards honoring and recognizing members of the UW community who have demonstrated leadership, initiative and dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Additionally, winners of the Green Office Competition and the Campus Clean Up will be recognized. UW Campus Sustainability Fund Outreach Coordinator Kyle Murphy will tie this all together as the Master of Ceremonies.

The 2nd Annual Trashion Show will begin at 2:15 PM in Red Square. Here is a preview video highlighting UW students and staff who were featured yesterday on King 5 New Day NW: http://www.king5.com/new-day-northwest/203222161.html.
