Announcing the SEFS Graduate Student Symposium

Announcing the 10th Annual Graduate Student Symposium! Join us bright and early Friday morning (March 8th) for breakfast as we kick off the day with presentations from this year’s panelists. We will have presentations and a discussion session with Research Social Scientist, Dale Blahna from the US Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station, Deputy Directory of Natural Resources, Phil Rigdon with the Yakama Nation, and Plant Ecologist, Laura Six working at International Environmental Research with Weyerhauser.

Following the panel discussion we will have our main event, our graduate student presentations along with some special activities this year to celebrate 10 years of GSS. The theme is The Future of Forestry (which of course also includes natural resource management, environmental science and the full range of the work we do here at SEFS).

We invite you to join us, relax, enjoy yourself and catch as many sessions as you can! We will be serving a pizza lunch at noon along with the poster presentations. For more information and to view our tentative schedule please visit:

We look forward to seeing you there and hearing your thoughts on the future of forestry (and natural resource management and environmental science)!
