Xi Sigma Pi – Research Grants


Up to $1500

Xi Sigma Pi, the Forestry Honors Society, is offering research grants
for the 2013-2014 school year. This call is open to all undergraduate
and graduate students in the College of the Environment. This includes
students in the following:

School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences

Department of Atmospheric Sciences

Department of Earth and Space Sciences

Program on the Environment

School of Forest Resources

School of Marine and Environmental Affairs

School of Oceanography

Grants will be awarded based on merit and financial need.

Grant money must be used for research expenses and/or equipment.

Proposals must include the following:

1. Title

2. Author and contact information

3. Project abstract

4. Project description including:

a. Introduction

b. Methods

c. Timeline

d. Anticipated outcome

5. Equipment or Financial need and budget

6. Other funding sources/scholarships

7. Project partners

8. 3 academic/personal references (including at least 1 COE
faculty/staff member)

9. One copy of current unofficial transcript

**Please limit proposal to 5 pages of double-spaced text or less**

Application materials should be submitted to Amanda Davis, Michelle
Trudeau or Lisa Nordlund in Anderson Hall, rooms 116/130. All application
materials will have names and identifying information redacted prior
to receipt by the grant committee. Application packages must be
RECEIVED no later than March 29, 2013 at 5pm. Incomplete or late applications
cannot be considered. Selectees will be notified by late-April 2013 and
