UW Rome Center

Greetings from Rome, Saluti da Roma!

Now 30 years in existence, the University of Washington Rome Center (UWRC) serves as a home for faculty-led study abroad programs and hosts 300-400 students per year from over 30 different programs in a wide range of academic disciplines. It is also a site for conferences, partner university programs, independent research for faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students, and short-term accommodations for UW affiliates. (Please see attached fact sheet for more details.)

The UWRC is the University of Washington’s most unique campus location and inspires innovation and excellence in teaching and learning. In an effort to inform the UW community about the UWRC, two general information sessions for faculty and staff are planned for February (at the main UW Seattle campus):

Tuesday, February 26, 10-11:30 am / Mary Gates Hall 206
Wednesday, February 27, 3:30-5 pm / Gerberding Hall 142

You are invited to attend and learn more about opportunities at the UWRC and how to become part of the Rome Center community. Members of the Office of International Programs & Exchanges team will also be present to discuss IP&E’s role in facilitating faculty-led study abroad programs.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could circulate this announcement to colleagues within your units to help us reach as broad an audience as possible.
For any questions or clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to meeting in Seattle and sharing the remarkable history and vibrant activity of the UW Rome Center.
