Want to know how to communicate the importance of your research to
policy-makers or your grandmother? Invited to a Lobby Day but need to know
how to translate your research into accessible information that others can
understand? GPSS is offering opportunities to learn how to frame your
message! January 29th from 5-6pm in the Vista Cafe or 2-3pm on February 5th
in the HUB room 334. We had so much interest we are offering it twice.
Immediately following the February 5th workshop will also be a Lobby Day
Training from 3-4pm at the same venue. All are welcome to attend!

5. Lobby Day: Friday, February 15th
Students are facing increased debt, cuts to financial aid, the elimination
of programs, bigger classes, and fewer TA positions. It is time for
legislators to find new sources of revenue to increase state funding for
UW. On Friday, February 15th, hundreds of UW students will travel to
Olympia to meet with legislators and advocate for the future of higher
education in Washington State.
