The Office of Admissions is seeking a talented individual who shares these values and is interested in joining our staff as a counselor. The professional position is full time and permanent.
• Counsel prospective freshman, transfer, international and postbaccalaureate students on campus
• Manage assigned recruitment territories throughout the Northwest and the nation. Represent the UW at high schools, community colleges and community events
• Respond to admissions inquiries via phone, email and in person
• Represent the UW at on-campus information sessions and events
• Assist in outreach and recruitment programs
• Undergraduate application review
• Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree and at least one year admissions counseling and/or outreach experience, or equivalent.
Must be flexible and have the drive to work in a fast-paced office. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are essential, as are strong public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations.
Must be comfortable with technology and have basic familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets and database software tools. Must be able to demonstrate ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Experience with territory management and extended recruitment travel. Graduate of the UW or a similar research university.
Former UW student ambassador, tour guide, on-campus resident adviser, peer adviser, orientation Leader, or similar student involvement.
