Hello from the University of Washington Dream Project!
Are you a strong writer? Do you care about social justice, social mobility, and college access? Can you spare a few hours in November? The Dream Project is looking for your help! The Dream Project is a student-initiated, student-led program that partners UW students with first-generation and low-income students from local high schools as they navigate the college admissions process. On November 3rd and 4th, we will be hosting our annual Admissions Workshop Weekend on the UW Seattle campus. Over 700 high school students will come and receive help on their college applications. Students will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with mentors and writing tutors, who provide support as students craft quality applications and essays. In the past, writing tutor volunteers have found witnessing and supporting students’ accomplishments very rewarding. To prepare you for volunteering as a writing tutor, a 30 minute webinar will be sent to you before the event. As if that wasn’t enough, breakfast and lunch will be provided as well as free parking. We would love to have you join as a volunteer at Admissions Workshop Weekend with us! If this particular weekend doesn’t work for you, we’d love to have you volunteer at one of our smaller College Application Completion Events taking place throughout October and November.
